A wonderful event in Durham

On Sunday 24th May, in the blazing heat of Durham, over a hundred young people gathered to take part in the NABGC National Athletics Championships. 

Kindly hosted and superbly organised by our friends at Durham Association of Boys & Girls Clubs and their team of volunteers, the event as always showcased what potential lies within the clubs across our network. 

The event took place right in the middle of the recent heatwave that swept across the country.

Despite this, everyone taking part showed effort and determination to do their very best and compete to their best ability. 

For some, it was their first experience at an Athletics event, whilst others were more experienced. In each case, everyone was helped, assisted and encouraged.

Well done to everyone who took part. And a HUGE thanks to all at Durham Association of Boys & Girls Clubs and their army of volunteers for organising such a wonderful event.”
