The 100 mile canoe test is a personal challenge, not a race. Participants call on their skill, determination and stamina to achieve the 100 mile target over four days of paddling. The achievement brings a sense of personal fulfilment that will remain with the individual for life. Canoe Test 2024 introduces a new framework for group leaders to engage a varying level of young people into the annual event. Following feedback from 2023, we are providing a platform for groups to attend with younger and/or less able groups to take part in a multi day challenge to push young peoples boundaries while maintaining the traditional and ultimate challenge of achieving the 100 mile for those groups with the preparation, ambition and determination to achieve. We recognise that youth groups have a large audience of young people that aren't necessarily ready to challenge themselves for the full 100 miles but would benefit from the challenge of going through the journey of a residential experience and taking part in an adventure outside of their comfort zone while meeting new people from across the UK.
