NABGC Arts Leadership Day 2026 Feedback

We recently hosted an Arts Leadership Day at Essex Boys and Girls Club joined by 11 young people.

Club attendance:

• The Outhouse
• Seabrooke Rise
• Young Leaders (previous programmes)
• (Wales couldn’t make it in the end)

Comments from the attendees:

• 100% of attendees said they tried a new activity on the day
• 100% of attendees said they would like to continue to attend Young Leader days, activities and opportunities
• All attendees would recommend Arts Leadership Days to a friend

As a result of attending…

• 9 attendees said they felt more confident in their own skills and qualities
• 8 young people said they felt more determined
• 10 YP said they feel like they have qualities which would be good as a young leader
• 11 YP said they could work well as part of a team
• 10 YP felt they would be willing to help more at their club/school/work
• 8 young people would be interested in volunteering at both Essex and National events as a young leader.
• 3 young people said they would volunteer as a YL in Essex only.

A parent whose young person had mentioned struggles with anxiety and confidence/struggles in some situations said: ‘I just wanted to say a huge thank you for encouraging my child to stay. She had a lovely time and brought home so many things. It was also such a great way to build some resilience as this issue has been affecting us as a family too’.
